Volos Films is a Taiwanese production company founded in 2018 by Italian producer Stefano Centini, committed to producing international content across Europe and Asia, bringing the voice of emerging talents in different genres to audiences between the two continents.

Volos Films Italia SRL is an Italian production company based in Rome and funded by Italian-Taiwanese producer Stefano Centini. Born in Rome and graduated from Italian National Film School (CSC Sede Lombardia), Stefano moved to Taiwan after a Chinese language degree and produced several feature films and documentaries in co production between Asia and Europe.

Volos Films Italia, the Italian branch of the company, is committed to build stronger ties between Europe and Asia. Created in 2022, the company co-produced the Public Taiwan Service drama series Imperfect Us, shot in Gorizia and supported by Friuli Venezia Giulia Region; the company is also co-producing Venice Golden Lion winner Lav Diaz’s next film, An Entry into the Sadness of a Portuguese Woman as well as Dechen Roder’s I, The Song, a four countries co-production between Bhutan, France, Norway and Italy, and Petersen Vargas’ Some Nights I feel like Walking.

Stefano Centini is an Italian producer based in Taipei, Taiwan. After graduating from National Film School – Centro Sperimentale Sede Lombardia in Italy, he relocated to Taiwan where he studied film and television production at the National Taiwan Art University of the Arts. In Taiwan, he produced several short and feature films, including the short Nia’s Door (2015 Busan IFF Best Asian short) founded by the Taiwan Ministry of Culture, the feature documentary Absent Without Leave (2016, SGIFF Audience Choice Award) and the segment The Sleep (2018) for the Taiwanese installment of Hong Kong’s hit Ten Years. He is a member of EAVE and an alumnus of the Berlinale Tokyo Talents.

Stefano Centini

Graduated from Aix-Marseille University, Chuti Chang served since 2001 as an international coordinator and producer for 3H Productions, founded by renowned Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-Hsien. Most recently, she produced director Huang Xi’s feature debut, Missing Johnny. In 2017, she received the prize as the most promising young producer at the Chinese Generation Film Forum.

Chu-ti Chang

Ping-Yu CHIU, a graduate of the Department of Sociology at National Taiwan University, has experience in multiple feature film productions. She joined the Taipei Film Commission in 2017, focusing on developing international promotion strategies and participating in global film market events. During her tenure as the International Development Manager, she also served as the Head of Programs for the Taipei Film Academy. In 2023, she became a producer at Volos Films. Ping-Yu is an alumnus of the International Film Business Academy at Busan Asian Film School (AFiS) in 2021 and APostLab in 2023. She has also been selected for the 2023 Match Me! program, a networking platform for upcoming producers at the Locarno Film Festival.

Ping-yu Chiu
